Three Day Training Programme on Basic Geriatric Care
The programme was held on 14 th March – 16 th March 2023 at MFM Conference Hall, Durtlang, Aizawl, Mizoram. The purpose of this programme is to provide skill and knowledge in effective geriatric patient care including the ability to recognize their possible atypical presenting symptoms and signs, complex co-morbid disease and atypical reactions to treatments and medications. In order to acquire knowledge and skills, the training was conducted using power point presentation, chart presentation and video presentation. Various techniques for training were used to involve participants in learning, trainers engaged participants in discussions, queries and suggestions. The training programme was conducted in twelve sessions;

2. What is Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act 2007
3. Important definitions in the Act
4. Application for maintenance
5. Jurisdiction and procedure
6. Order for maintenance
7. Establishment of old age homes
8. Medical support for senior citizens
9. Protection of life and property of senior citizen
