MFM has been providing structured skill training programmes for young people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction at the Hulhliap Short Stay Centre. These initiatives are designed to support their rehabilitation process by equipping them with practical skills, improving their employability, and helping them reintegrate into society with confidence and dignity.
The training is carried out at the MFM Skill Training Centre, Dawrpui Vengthar, where participants are introduced to three vocational job roles—Assistant Electrician, General Plumber, and Aluminium Fabricator. The programme is designed to be hands-on and practice-oriented, allowing trainees to gain real-world exposure and develop competence in their chosen trades. All training activities are conducted under close and continuous supervision by qualified instructors to ensure both safety and quality learning outcomes.
Alongside technical instruction, regular counselling sessions are provided to support the emotional and psychological well-being of the trainees, recognising the challenges often faced during the recovery and rehabilitation process. The programme also places strong emphasis on life skills education, including discipline, communication, teamwork, time management, and responsible decision-making. Together, these components aim to holistically prepare the trainees for sustainable employment, independent living, and a positive reintegration into society.
